On November 19, 2015, a group of employees from the Horton Group of Orland, let by Food For Friends volunteer Marie Bastic, gathered to pack 100 Blue Bags items containing a complete Thanksgiving dinner complete with a 12 lb. frozen Turkey. These bags were distributed in the Orland Park area to 100 families through Together We Cope food pantry.
Here’s a quote from Marie about the event. “Being able to partner with Food for Thought during Thanksgiving season has been a truly fulfilling experience for myself and the employees at The Horton Group. It is truly a heartwarming experience to be able to help those in need to celebrate this holiday with a table full of Thanksgiving food. Horton partners with Food for Thought, they supply the turkeys and we supply the side meals. The recipient of this Thanksgiving food is Together We Cope. This is the only food pantry that will be distributing the turkeys and side meals for Tinley Park and the surrounding suburbs starting on Monday, November 23rd. We are very thankful to have this opportunity to help ease the burden of struggling families during the Thanksgiving season. Thank you again so very much for partnering with us on this worthy cause.”
