On March 26, a group of Food For Friends volunteers led by Dan Herzog and Ben Opsahl hosted another fantastic serving event – Easter lunch – at the Annex Ewing Hotel on Clark Street in the Chicago Loop
We were able to pass out meals to over 100 homeless men who were all extremely grateful and welcoming. Each person that enjoyed their Easter meal left with a “goodie bag” containing some essential items to keep them going through their tough times as well as a piece of fresh fruit.
Thanks to Dan Veles of Lee n’ Eddies catering for partnering up with us on this event.
We have served the men of Annex Ewing Hotel a number of times and get a special feeling in our hearts everytime we do. We can see the impact we have on these men who rarely get a meal like we can provide to them. We see the thanks in their faces and hear it in their voices.
It was awesome sharing God’s love with all the men we met at the Ewing Annex Hotel this morning/afternoon. Thanks to all of you who support Food For Friends through your donations. Because of you, we continue to Pay it Forward…. One Meal at a Time.
