Food For Friends voluneers served 150 meals on March 23, 2018 at the Ewing Annex Hotel for men in the Chicago Loop. You can see all the pictures from this event on our Facebook page via the album 2018 23Mar – Ewing Annex Hotel

On Saturday March 24, we had the great pleasure of serving an Easter meal to over 120 men at the Ewing Annex Hotel thanks to Food For Friends and Lee n’Eddies catering.

The men enjoyed a great meal consisting of ham, chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes with gravy,
mac and cheese, meatballs, and Jello.

I served with my parents, June and John, and family friends Bob and Stephanie Skopek. Dan Herzog, a member of the board of directors of FFF was able to join us to help us serve.

The Annex Hotel provides affordable temporary housing for men in need. Many of the men stay at local shelters most of the time and stay at the Annex when they can afford to do so. The Annex, unlike the shelters, give the men their own rooms so they can enjoy some privacy.

We recognized many of the guests. They were present for the previous meal we served at the Annex. The guests all enjoyed their meals and expressed great appreciation.

We look forward to serving again at the Annex in September.
