A Holiday Dinner for Fellowship Housing Moms and Children

Food For Friends provided the Holiday Meal for Fellowship Housing mom’s and their children on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Willow Creek Church. This was the first time, Food For Friends hosted this annual event. Thanks to Joan Richards for leading this event on behalf of Food For Friends.  This article was written from content submitted by both Joan and Heather Corins, Housing Program Director, Fellowship Housing.

On December 6, 2018 Food For Friends sponsored a Christmas Party for Fellowship Housing moms and their children

Fellowship Housing’s 2018 Christmas party was a fun and special night.  This was the first time Food For Friends sponsored this annual event designed to give the mom’s and their children a chance to celebrate the holidays together and experience the magic of giving and receiving.

Food for Friends provided dinner to 35 adults and 50 children. Everyone got some salad and pizza.   And before too long, Santa made an appearance, to the delight of all the children.   One of the children could be heard running up to the serving table and exclaiming “did you see, Santa is here!!!!”

There was plenty of leftover food that moms were able to take home.   We were blessed to have several Food For Friends and Willow Creek volunteers who set up the event, served the food and helped clean up.  We can’t thank the volunteers enough for heling to make the event a success.

The moms, kids and Fellowship Housing staff were all very complementary about Food For Friends, and very thankful for all we do.   “We are so thankful to Food for Friends for providing the meal, for volunteering, and for serving our families the way they do. Without Food for Friends help the Christmas party would not have been nearly as successful or as enjoyable as it was”, said Heather Corins, Housing Program Director for Fellowship Housing.  ” We are so grateful and want to wish everyone at Food for Friends a very Merry Christmas. ”
