Event Recap: KPMG “K-Class” and Breakthrough Urban Ministries – November 22, 2019

On November 22nd, the 2018 & 2019 KPMG “K-CLASS” joined together in partnership with Food for Friends and Breakthrough Urban Ministries to provide 100 Thanksgiving meals to Chicago families. The following article was submitted by the KPMG “K-Class” leadership team.  For more pictures from this event, go to our album on Facebook titled 2019Nov22 – KPMG Thanksgiving Blue Bag Event

On November 22, 2019, over 30 KPMG professionals gathered to pack turkeys and yummy sides to create a complete Thanksgiving meal. The meals were then taken to Breakthrough Ministries (https://www.breakthrough.org) Fresh Food Market and distributed to local families.

Local families pick up a Turkey and blue bag filled with food for traditional Thanksgiving side dishes from the KPMG K-class team.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Food for Friends for providing such wonderful Thanksgiving turkeys and the many participating KPMG professionals for their generous donations. As a result, the team was able to exceed the initial goal of $1,200 and provide even more turkeys than last year!

We would like to thank Food for Friends and Breakthrough Urban Ministries for their partnership and support in this event, which we hope to continue with in the years to come.

Here are a few testimonials we were able to collect during distribution:

“This is great. We’re taking these turkey meals and will give them away to the men and women in our community who are currently experiencing homelessness…”

“Thank you so much for your help. This means a lot.”

Thanks to the Food For Friends organization! We look forward to working together on more events like this!

Happy Thanksgiving!
