The Food For Friends Board has been continuously monitoring the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and been in voice contact with the Illinois Department of Public Health regarding COVID-19. In addition, we have been monitoring recommendations from government and business leaders across federal, state and local government, health and food safety agencies in Washington DC, State of Illinois, Cook, Dupage, Kane, Lake and surrounding communities.
We also have the added benefit of having many doctors, heath professionals, attorneys and professional leaders across the Food For Friends network.
Using all that input, and after consultation with our strategic partners and serving event organizers, our Board has decided to cancel upcoming serving events for the time being out of caution to protect both our volunteers and those we serve.
The COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly changing event. As we move forward we will closely monitor the news and continue to process all recommendations from both government and business leaders. Future events will be evaluated on a case by case basis with human safety being priority.
Thank you for your thoughts and please pray for healing and those we serve. We know many people are caught between cautious wisdom and anxious fear. Please join us in opening the doors of HOPE, by CONNECTING trust in our GOD to our hearts so we can meet the needs of the vulnerable in GODS timing.
