We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Food For Friends to again offer a Thanksgiving Meal to our residents this year. Despite the pandemic, we were able to serve 25 residents a prepackaged Thanksgiving meal including a dessert and beverage.

The meal was provided by Food For Friends which included turkey with gravy, stuffing, greens, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and dinner rolls. West Cook YMCA provided dessert and beverages. Leftovers were available for Residents that were not able to pick up during the program.

There was a total of 6 volunteers, 4 WCY staff and 2 FFF volunteers. They provided a warm and welcoming greeting for those picking up a Thanksgiving box meal. The volunteers wore masks, gloves and maintained their distance. Our residents greatly appreciated the wonderful meal and thoughtfulness of providing a safe program.

We look forward to continued collaborations to serve our community.
