PACIFIC GARDEN MISSION Thanksgiving 11/23/2011-read more

More than 80 volunteers gather at the end of several hours of serving warm meals to more than 1000 homeless people staying at the Pacific Garden Mission on Wednesday 11/23/211.  The menu was traditional Thanksgivng fare including turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing, apple and pumpkin pies.  Food For Friends roots started serving thanksgiving meals in 1994 at the Harold Washington College before coming to the mission in 2003 and has served warm meals every Thanksgiving Eve at Pacific Garden Mission for eight consecutive years.
