On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 Food For Friends partnered with The Music Box Foundation to provide the community Thanksgiving “Grab and Go” meal.
At Music Box Foundation, we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, our mission is to be a catalyst for building healthy communities and enriching lives through the power of music and arts. We are located in the Chicago, Woodland area, where most individuals are near the poverty line.
In our previous years in partnership with Food For Friends we have allowed guests to sit amongst each other within our facility and enjoy performances by our students. In order to follow the Covid-19 guidelines, we had to make adjustments to our annual Thanksgiving community dinner.
We were able to serve 150+ meals to our students, their families, and our community. To-go containers were packed by volunteers with turkey, macaroni & cheese, yams, greens and dinner rolls.
The meal was sponsored by Food For Friends and catered by Dan Veles of Lee N’ Eddies. A special thanks to Food For Friends volunteers, Joan and Rebecca and Music Box Foundation volunteers Retha, Karon, Mia, Dontrell, and more.
This is our third successful annual Thanksgiving community dinner and we plan to continue making an impact in the lives of the people in the community.
Thank you again!
