In the spirit of giving, a heartwarming holiday turkey distribution took place on the south side of Chicago at New Pasadena Church located on 11300 S Indiana Ave, Chicago, IL.
New Pasadena Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1967 and has been faithfully serving the spiritual and physical needs of the Roseland community, in the far south side of Chicago, ever since. They provide inspiration, encouragement, empowerment and uplift to the community through various means of support, including, but not limited to: Feeding the hungry, both spiritually and naturally, providing support for seniors, and resource distributions in and around our community. They are a loving community of believers that proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their words and their lives.
On November 17, 2023 Food For Friends sponsored the No Saints Left Behind organization for their Thanksgiving Food Drive located at New Pasadena Church by donating 75 turkeys and blue bags. By contributing to holiday turkey donations, individuals and organizations play a vital role in ensuring that every family, regardless of financial constraints, can partake in the joy of a warm and wholesome Thanksgiving feast. This act of generosity not only addresses immediate nutritional needs but also fosters a sense of belonging and shared celebration within the Roseland community. The turnout within this community was so overwhelming that we were able to pass out all 75 turkeys and blue bags within 30 minutes. Such a wonderful story! The founder of No Saints Left Behind and the pastor of New Pasadena Church was overcome with joy for what Food For Friends donations was able to provide within the Roseland Community.
